Do You Believe This is a Ghost?
Ghost saw on surveillance camera at Asheville High School in Asheville, North Carolina. The camera caught a shadowy figure moving about in the school's rotunda. The school is 100 years old they seem to think it is the ghost of a little boy.
Don't you just love cameras left in the dark to catch whatever is moving about.
There are more haunted schools.
In Slinger, Wisconsin there is the ghost of former student that was accidently killed and now haunts the hallways.
Urbana High School in Urbana, Illinois, something walks the hallways. They think it is teacher who fell in love with a student and then hanged herself but no one really knows. This ghost hangs out in a tower at the school.
Del Mar High School in California is haunted by a boy who was murdered by his best friend in 1942. They hear his screams.
Earl Wooster High School is haunted by very very upset fan who shot himself on the football playing field. Visiting athletes will trip over nothing, as if some unseen hand has triped them.
As you can see Asheville is not the first haunted school.
My Family Stories
I come from a family that talked of ghost as if it was an everyday thing. My aunts, there were 5 of them, would hide in the bushes and jump out at us when we were kids, with white sheets over their heads. All of the cousins, my brothers and sisters and myself would go running away screaming. My aunts of the ones that are still living are in their 80's and 90's now. It was a fun childhood. I don't think kids enjoy that kind of thing now. It never hurt us.
We were recently visiting with my aunt and uncle. She told the story again of the new house they had just built. She was sitting in the living room one day and she saw a man in gray shirt and pants (work clothes) walk in and walk down the basement stairs. She told people about it and they said it sounded like the farmer that use to own the land. She never saw him again. My uncle told her not to tell that story. He said they would never get the house sold.
My Husband's Story
My husband and his friend were bird hunting earlier one morning on a back road way back in the woods. They were driving along when they suddenly saw a ghostly white figure cross the road. My husband's friend said: "Did you see that." My husband replied that he had then, he said "Let's get out of here." They never found out what it was and never went back there again. My husband explained that back in the woods from that spot was an old homestead that was falling down and no one had lived in it for years. The only place he thought a ghost could have came from. He said it looked just like a ghostly figure.
We don't see this friend often now, they have moved out of the state but when we do he always brings up the ghostly figure. He has never forgot about it.

SUMMERWIND
The legend of Summerwind known as Lamont Mansion. This haunted mansion was the most haunted house in Wi at one time. It's nothing but ruins now burned to the ground in 1988. It has been on the TV show A Haunting. Located on West Bay Lake in Wisconsin. It's not far from us and I would like to go one day to just get some good pictures but I'm sure it's blocked from anyone getting close to it.
Summerwind was a beautiful place on a lovely lake and people tried to live in it but it was so haunted no one could last long.
It once belonged to the Secretary of Commerce to president Hoover, Robert P. Lamont. It was even haunted at the time that Lamont lived in it. He shot at someone he thought was an intruder but it wasn't, it was a ghost. Purchased in 1916 by Lamont once a hunting lodge like so many places in Norhtern Wisconsin. Rich and famous stayed in these lodges. Mafia also owned many places in this area at one time.

'Amityville Horror' house back on market, for $1.15 M. It doesn't look like such a horrible house. Looks pretty nice. I wonder if that creepy little boy is still in there. This picture was suppose to have been taken by a news paper but then it's also said it was taken by ghost hunters and not found until years later.
Below the house looks like such a nice place to raise children in. So serene or is it? Would you live there?
Old Farm House
We live in an old farm house now. I have woke up to people talking in this house. It sounds like a man and woman and their carrying on a converation. I can't understand what they say but they are talking. I have thought the TV was on when it wasn't. I have gotten out of bed to check the TV and find that it's off. Both of the late owners died here. She died in the kitchen and he died outside.
I have also felt cold air hit my face like someone is blowing the air at me. There's nothing that I can say for sure just what I have heard and felt sometimes.
We have a cat and when he was a kitten and we first brought him home he never relaxed. He was always acting like he saw something that I couldn't see. He'd sit up in bed and watch the door or he'ld hang on top of my head holding on for dear life with his little claws watching the door. He's better now but still jumpy at times.

Interesting but I don't believe in ghosts. Demons yes, ghosts no. Why one and not the other? Because ghosts are supposed to be people who have died but not left the earth. For the Christian, when a person dies they enter eternity - either Heaven or Sheol (the lace of the death otherwise known as hell). Demons on the other hand are are the henchmen of Satan (Devil) and are about the business to deceive mankind and keep them from believing in God.

I think there are two major things to consider with any film like this. First, many of the modern ghost clips were photographed with digital cameras, and there's a whole new range of "photo flaws" with the digital technology that people see without understanding. This could be a bug sitting on the camera lense and moving around in the zone that's out of focus. That explains why in one segment it's apparently standing in a doorway and in the next it's at the top of the door, at an angle. The second series shows a "shadow" which could be the ovipository of a flying insect. It moves appropriately for that, along with the object, even though it seems to fit a shadow's pattern of movement. If at any point part of this ghost had wandered beyond the doorway and been partially obscured I'd be more convinced.
But secondly, I do believe in ghosts and I've had many strange personal encounters with things I can't explain away. In fact, digital technology seems sensitive to things that the old chemical film was not. Some of those new phenomena are real. I know that even if you can puzzle out a mundane explanation for something unusual, that's not necessarily the right answer to the puzzle.

Someone could have been walking on the skylight and their image could have been reflected down through the skylight. That would explain why it appeared on top of the wall. You should also look for lights radiating from the outside of the school through the skylight.

I can't agree with your explaination because if an insect was sitting on the camera then why is it casting a secondary shadow below the original shadow on the floor.

I would like to propose a hypothesis that arises out of quantum physics for pondering. It is said that the human spirit possesses electromagnetic forces. Also, scientists have just perfected technology that can read thoughts by reading a person’s brain waves and translating them on a computer screen as words and commands. Could it be possible that this electromagnetic energy is our spirit and each electromagnetic wave functions with different and unique frequencies like a radio that can be recorded and stored in a database by using specialized electromagnetic meters like an EEG?
If such a recording is applied to Hindu and Buddhist beliefs of reincarnation, meaning, if this electromagnetic force survives a person’s death and then enters into a host embryo and is born again, can the recorded electromagnetic force of the new born be compared with the electromagnetic record stored on the database to determine the prior life of the child? So whenever a child is born, their electromagnetic print can be taken and entered into the database and their parents can be given a record of their prior life….this doesn’t sound good. Especially if their child was a murderer in a prior life. Also, if this unique electromagnetic impression of a person’s life can be recorded and it is fleeting after a person dies then it would be important to record the impression right after death and birth.
Since the brain contains the cells that hold memories, which are lost upon the electromagnetic spirit leaving the human host at death, the new born will not have memories of a prior life except for the electromagnetic impressions created by the prior life that would probably be fleeting. The electromagnetic impression would be more defined by a prior life that had strong emotional ties. Emotions are made from electrical impulses that are transmitted by the nerves and stored in the brain cells, and which can create an electromagnetic impression of the person that survives their death for a period of time. For example, the death of a person can create such a strong emotional reaction, which can create a strong electromagnetic impression that survives the person’s death for some time. This would explain why professionals believe that these electromagnetic impressions display themselves as images. The stronger the electromagnetic impression created from the prior life is, the more defined the image is, which I believe would be fleeting during the passing of time. This could also explain why some electromagnetic images display more of a human image while others display an unrecognizable image or shape and others simply a small floating bulb. For example, the videos above are a perfect example. In one video, you only see a small white floating orb. In another video, you see a dark undefined image that has a shape of a human, and in a third video, you see a full image of a human. The third video involved three (3) fatal accidents where people died in their cars. The cars were then towed to the yard the same day of the accident and then the image of the person appeared. The fatal accident could have created very strong emotions that could have in turn created a very strong electromagnetic impression of the person at the time of the accident, which could have then caused it to display itself as an actual image of a human on the above video. The weaker the electromagnetic impression is, the weaker the image. For example, it would appear as a floating orb or an unrecognizable image as in the above videos.
Could this electromagnetic impression of the person’s prior life be transferred to the new born? In other words, could the child remember glimpses of a prior life due to the electromagnetic impression of the prior life; but not entire memories? For example, in the video above where you can see a complete image of a person, can the electromagnetic impression of that person’s tragic ending be transferred to a new born where the new born’s brain cells interpret the electromagnetic impression and the child will have some memories of the prior life where s/he died tragically? Does time deplete the electromagnetic impression of the prior life to only start taking on a new impression of the new born it is now hosting? Does the lack of any memories of when a human was a baby upto 1 to 2 years, or longer play a roll on allowing the electromagnetic impression of the prior life to deplete so a new impression of the current life can start to form?
Or can it invade another person’s mind? It is well known that a person’s mind operates under electrical charges. Thus, is it possible that third-party electromagnetic forces can invade a person’s mind. For example, the person sees images of an electromagnetic impression of the other person’s prior life? This idea would go to explain how some people could claim to speak with the dead. This idea would also hold that these people don’t actually speak with the dead; but instead, they are conduits from which the third-party electromagnetic force enters and uses the person’s brain cells to interpret the electromagnetic impressions from the prior life. This idea would also explain why some people who claim to communicate with the dead say that some communications are strong while others are week. This could depend on the strength of the electromagnetic impression. The stronger the impression, the stronger the communication a person would receive. Can electromagnetic forces be involved in interpersonal communications where electromagnetic impressions are transferred from one person to another? For example, a husband and wife who speak the same words at the same time, or a person you just met and an attraction is created, or when a person feels a “vibe” from another person that is interpreted as a bad or good vibe?
It is fact that electromagnetic forces are around us every day. Thus, the issue rests on whether we can see them, and the strength of the electromagnetic impression could dictate if we will.
There is a lot that we don’t know about life; but I believe we are about to make some incredible discoveries due to new technologies that have been created, and which have already uncovered some extraordinary discoveries. Never accept that something is not true simply because you cannot see it with your own eyes.
Remember, this is just a hypothesis that may be proven wrong; but there is a lot of evidence and more being discovered that is supporting a theory with this idea. Only time and new discoveries can tell us more.
A custodian said this isn't the first time this has happened. He said over the years there have other unexplained sightings. So I guess they have thought there may be a ghost in the school.

I don't know if there is a skylight. Maybe trying going on te school website and emaiing them and ask if there is a skylignt.
David,I noticed the double tail (or shadow). There are wasp like insects which have that build, two egg laying organs or tail-like wings instead of one. This isn't a moth, because it isn't the right shape, but it could be a wasp or a type of fly. The shadow is the weak part of my argument anyway, because the angle of it is always correctly in line with the light source. That could just be coincidence, because insects are often drawn to face a light. It certainly has the jumpy movement of a bug. A similar ghost video in my area of Indiana was shown to be a bug on the security camera lense just recently. With models on the lense people were able to reproduce the event. Proof has to be pretty spectacular and unique to be acceptable. If there's an ordinary explanation people tend to go with that even if it's wrong.Looking at the video of the orb in the gym (hope that's the one you meant, I couldn't get the links to pull up the right one so I did a search) I still see something that's very close to the camera and out of focus. Motion sensors probably aren't supposed to trigger for objects the size of bugs, but all sorts of things go wrong with them, especially the cheap ones.I guess most of the orbs I've seen were all in the same area, the Brown Mountain and Linville Gorge region of North Carolina. Ghost lights are very common there. Alice and I have both seen them while camping there, and sometimes hundreds of cars are parking along the highway at night watching the lights. Many colors and lots of variation in movement, obviously not bugs. Closest one to me was about ten feet away one night when I was camping on Brown Mountain in the area with the most activity, hoping to see one up close. I woke up in the middle of the night with a plane going overhead, way off in the distance, and shadows moving across the tent roof. Thought for a moment it was from the plane, then woke up all the way and realized the lights of a distant plane don't cast shadows. Poked my head out of the tent to look, and an orb the size of a soccer ball was moving slowly through the tree branches above me, throwing shadows of the branches on the tent. It drifted off in a straight line, went behind the trunk of a tree, and never came out from behind it, just vanished. It didn't look like the bug versions, no interior shadowy structures that show an object is just out of focus. Yellowish orange, a little transparent, perfectly round, not bouncing in the breeze or at all affected by the wind. Some people think they are geological phenomena, some think they are spiritual, and I don't see any reason they can't be a mix of both. I had many strange experiences in that area that weren't geological but they might have been triggered in some way by the area.

If you can describe it I might know of a source. I don't have weird connections but I've done a lot of research for my own reasons.
It looked like a large black triangle it blackened the sky above we could not see the stars it was so large. We stood right under it had to lean back to look at the bottom 3 lights that did not shine out.

Who doesn't love a good ghost story, real or not? I've always been fascinated by ghost sightings, and orbs in pictures. This story makes me wonder how many things like this actually show up on tape. Most stores have cameras now.

My farther always told a story about seeing a woman at dusk as he was on his way home from school who suddenly disappeared with no place around to hide. And I believe my best friend who was killed in a head on car collision by a drunk driver heading the wrong way on a major highway visited me one night. So yes I do believe and what a great hub.

yes, i believe in ghost i have seen them throughout my life. when i was a little girl i lived in luna pier and their were ghost in my house!! they used to move my stuff around and play mean and scary tricks on me and most of all they haunted me, when i would tell my dad he would not believe until one day he was watching a movie with me and he had seen the same shadow as i did he told me you were right we will move out tomorrow morning as fast as possible

We live in a house where a lady died in the kitchen and her husband died outside by the drive-way. Soon after we bought the house their daughter died. All three are buried down the road from us I can see a little part of the cemetery from here. I feel like something is here once in awhile. I have woke up twice now hearing people talking thinking we left the tv on but when I go to look nothing is there and the tv is off. Who knows, very likely nothing just an old house.
well i do believe in ghost...but i dont think tht they willl be appeared in phootoes...well muslims do believe in ghost...they have to...but it says, that ghosts will not appear on pics...well, fellows...a good way to fool people...thanks for fooling almost everyone in the world....:)

Today as we speak they are constructing houses on the land where this base was located. Makes one wonder if those spirits will move into the newly constructed houses after they are built? I guess time will tell.

Hi the 'ghost' looks like what they refer to as a 'shadow' person. Very common form of appartition in homes and in buildings. I feel that the 'shadows' tend to be 'spirit' rather than just a play-back ghost.
This hub was really fascinating and I love the story about Summerwind. I remember seeing this in the TV show A Haunting and the story still fascinates me yet. Many thanks for sharing this great hub.

If I remember correctly the amyityville ghost claims that preceeded the original novel and the movies that came after were actually part of a real estate fraud.

Okay, I'm totally creeped out! Forget that I've lived in many places with a resident ghost (or two) and had all sorts of encounters with the Not-Quite-Completely-Departed. This HUB creeped me out! 'Course it didn't help that while I was reading it and the comments, the fridge went through its nightly defrost cycle, which after almost a year and a half stills makes me jump! ;D

I know! Mine did that, too! I'm usually sensitive to things like that, but when Murph would pop to attention and only his head would move as if he was watching "somebody" I wasn't seeing or sensing, my "radar" would switch on. Many times I couldn't get a read on what he was seeing, so I just chalked it up to one of those entities that only small children and animals can see. Meaning I'd never be bothered by it, only the Murphster. ;D
JamaGenee, We had a cat die suddenly about two years ago. When I sit at my computer I feel a cat rub my foot. I look down every time because I think it's Levi Jones he always does that but nothing will be there. At night it feels like a cat walking across our bed but nothing. Strange isn't it?
