Bride's Wedding Cake Frosting

This is a great tasting frosting (icing). It makes enough for three layer cakes. Works great on any cake you want to put it on. My friend and I made a batch for each of us a few weeks ago. We found that when we put together the powdered sugar and Crisco it worked better to use two knives and crisscross through the ingredients until the sugar and Crisco mix pretty good. Otherwise the powdered sugar will come flying up out of the bowl when you try to mix it.

This is a two part recipe. One part is my Snowy White Frosting. The other part is confectioner sugar frosting. You'll find my Snowy White Frosting on one of my hubs. It's good all by itself. That hub will show you in detail how to cook the second part of this recipe.

Items You Will Need.

♥ Two Large Mixer Bowls

You have to have a cake if you have a frosting so here's one my Mom use to make from her old war cookbook.

Hi, moonlake, I went back to your profile page to take a better look at the barn, etc. That looks like my kind of place!

Love this recipe. I'm always looking for better ways to make frosting! I was in the kitchen till 2AM making a cookie house. I use Merangue powder for the frosing cause it serves as glue: gets really hard. If I ever finish it, I'll write a Hub.

Regards, Mary BTW: I voted this Hub UP, etc.

mary615,

I'm from Arkansas and the profile picture is of a cotton field reminds me of home.

This is a very good frosting it makes so much it's a little harder to work with but in the end you have extra for later.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for the vote.

I'll keep this in mind for next June. I have always preferred fondant for wedding cake since Jamaica's traditional wedding cakes are usually fruit cakes, a bit heavy but not sure if I.m going traditional or contemporary.

I've always wondered how wedding cake frosting was made. I love wedding cakes and plan to prepare one for an anniversary party, so I'll give this recipe a try. Thank you!

vespawoolf, It's a good recipe. It's kind of sounds hard put it really isn't it does take large bowls you really have a big batch when you get done.

Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving a comment.
